IMPORTANT EXHIBITION REMINDER

Exhibition Reminder

The final part of the "Do Something" project is your child's REFLECTION of the entire project. I did need to see this at Milestone 3, but did not remind the students.  I will be talking with the students about the reflection portion and telling them it needs to be turned in by Friday, May 20th.  I would just like to see what they have thus far, to make sure that they are on the right track. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. This needs to be added to their powerpoint or other visual aid for the exhibition.

LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION....

Our Newbery Medal podcast/movies are almost complete!  I hope your child has shared this exiting project with you over the past month.  The students read a Newbery Medal or Honor book, choose one scene from the story, wrote a story board, and then a script.  They learned so many skills from this project and sharpened others, such as revising!  They also discovered how to adapt a story into a movie script, adding dialogue, stating the story from a character's point of view, and interpreting what the author might think is the important point within the scene.  We then did podcasts, found pictures that represented the scene or characters, and are now in the process of putting them into iMovie.  Below is Nadia's finished movie.  Take out some popcorn, sit back, and enjoy!!  (I'll be posting other movies under the "Student Work" tab.
